The Executive Committee (EC) of EBF met on 10th February. Topics arising from the EBF winter conference were discussed. It seems we need to get more involved on how Natura 2000 areas are defined and controlled as they can affect our flying. Good ideas on sharing information and training materials have been raised. The EC will need additional help to progress such initiatives. Work is continuing with EASA on recency requirements for Part 66 engineers, with a solution expected this year. EBF has prepared its list of proposed changes to Part BFCL, whilst the review of Part BOP is still open for contributions from balloon pilots and operations, via their national federations. Preparations are underway for the EBF annual General Meeting, to be held on 13th May. Full information on the General Meeting will be circulated to members during April.
