Meeting of the Executive Committee of 30th April 2025

The Executive Committee (EC) of EBF met on 30th April 2025. The main business was to prepare for the EBF general assembly of 13th May 2025. The EC agreed to propose a reduced membership fee for countries with fewer than 100 pilots. Updates on the work on Pilot Medical Declaration and Part 66 L engineer recency and licensing were discussed. Both topics are progressing in close collaboration with the European Gliding Union (EGU) and Europe Air Sports (EAS). Recent EASA and EAS meetings have discussed Electronic Conspicuity and this is clearly a key topic for EBF, where we must ensure a workable solution for balloons, ideally the mobile phone based application, “SafeSky”. EBF is preparing to start a series of meetings with EASA to present and discuss proposals for updates to Parts BFCL and Part BOP; this will be a major work topic for the rest of the year.
